Dr. Rahman obtained his MS (2009) and PhD (2014) in Materials Science and Engineering from McMaster University, Canada. After PhD, he joined Canadian Nuclear Laboratories as postdoctoral associate (2014-2016). He also worked as Research Fellow at University of Saskatchewan (2016-2020). Dr. Rahman has been working as an Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering at University of Louisville (UofL) since January, 2022. At UofL, he was selected as 'Student Champion' Faculty for the academic year 2023-24. Before joining UofL, he was a faculty member at Georgia Southern University (2020-2021). Currently his research focuses on (1) Nuclear materials: primarily irradiation damage, thermal transport behavior, themomechancial properties of reactor components and fuel materials; (2) Microwave radiation induced geopolymerization: in particular for Lunar regolith infrastructure materials.
