Melissa Porter, M.D. is a pediatric critical care physician with the division of Pediatric Critical Medicine at Norton Children's Hospital. Dr. Porter services as the medical director of the pediatric intensive care unit at Norton Children's Hospital. Dr. Porter is engaged in quality improvement work and has service as site principal invesitgator for several multicenter clinical trials.

Dr. Porter graduated in 2000 from the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine at Marshall University. She went on to complete pediatric residency training at Marshall University in 2003 and pediatric critical medicine training at Virginia Commonwealth University in 2006. Dr. Porter joined the faculty at the University of Louisville School of Medicine in 2006 and has been practicing pediatric critical care at Norton Children's Hospital since 2006.
