Mohamed Khodeiry, MD, MSc is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Louisville. He completed medical school and a Master of Science in Ophthalmology and Vision Sciences at Benha University in Egypt, graduating magna cum laude.

After completing ophthalmology residency, Dr. Khodeiry pursued advanced fellowship training in glaucoma at the University of Kentucky, pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, and neuro-ophthalmology at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. He also completed a research fellowship in glaucoma, neuroscience, and molecular ophthalmology at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.

His research focuses on glaucoma surgery, pediatric and secondary glaucomas, and the application of artificial intelligence in ophthalmology. He has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and invited articles in leading journals such as Ophthalmology, Journal of Glaucoma, and Journal of AAPOS. He is also an active reviewer for several ophthalmology journals.

Dr. Khodeiry is a member of the American Glaucoma Society, American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Outside of medicine, he enjoys cooking traditional Egyptian food, traveling, following Liverpool soccer, and reading literature and anthropology.
