BIO
Moonsup Hyun studies how athletes and teams perform, both on the field and on the balance sheet. His research sits at the intersection of sport analytics and sport economics, with particular interests in demand for sport, golf analytics, and baseball analytics. He leans on applied data analytics and visualization to make sense of what drives athletic and financial outcomes in sport. His work has appeared in the Journal of Sports Economics, Sport Management Review, and the Journal of Sport Management.
Before academia, he worked in international sales and marketing at Samsung Electronics. He was an instructor at Temple University and then served as Assistant Professor of Sport Management and Data Analytics at Utica University before joining UofL. He earned his B.A. in Human Ecology with a minor in Economics from Yonsei University, an M.S. in Sport Management from Seoul National University, and a Ph.D. in Business Administration (Sport Management) from Temple University.
