Dr. Mukesh Kumar Sriwastva is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physiology at the University of Louisville, specializing in immunology, cancer biology, exosome research, and host–microbiome interactions. His research investigates how gut‑derived nanovesicles, microbial metabolites, and immune responses shape the tumor microenvironment—particularly within the gut‑lung axis. By studying extracellular vesicles, immune regulatory pathways, and microbial communication, his work aims to identify novel therapeutic strategies for lung cancer, colitis, metabolic disorders, and inflammatory diseases.

Dr. Sriwastva has an extensive background in translational research, including studies in lung cancer, stroke biology, liver disease, oral immunology, and metabolic syndrome. His work has been published in leading journals such as Nature Communications, PNAS, Cell Host & Microbe, Journal of Extracellular Vesicles, EMBO Reports, and Small.
