Dr. Nancy Kern has been actively engaged in professional service, scholarship, and community outreach. She has served on the Louisville Health Advisory Board and the Board of Directors for Grow502 and the Kentucky Harm Reduction Coalition, where she also trains others in naloxone administration. Her service includes volunteer work with LouVax, COVID-19 testing and vaccination clinics, as well as disaster health services through the Medical Reserve Corps and the American Red Cross.

She regularly reviews abstracts and proposals for national conferences and academic journals, including Nurse Education Today, ENA, and APHN. Dr. Kern has presented at numerous conferences and contributed to research on nursing education, advocacy, and public health. Her commitment to service and scholarship reflects her dedication to advancing nursing practice and improving community health outcomes.
