Dr. Natalia Bastos-Bitencourt is a faculty member in the Department of Comprehensive Dentistry at the University of Louisville. She previously served as an Assistant Professor (Adjunto A) at the School of Dentistry of the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF), Governador Valadares campus, from April 2022 to July 2023. She holds both a Master’s and a Ph.D. in Operative Dentistry from the Bauru School of Dentistry – University of São Paulo (FOB/USP), a graduate program rated CAPES 6, where she was a CNPq scholarship recipient.

 

Currently, Dr. Bastos-Bitencourt teaches in the undergraduate Dentistry program at Centro Universitário do Espírito Santo (UNESC), where she has been working since 2021 in the areas of Operative Dentistry and Integrated Clinical Practice. In 2019–2020, she participated in a CAPES-Print funded sandwich Ph.D. program at the University of Toronto.

 

She earned her DDS degree from the Federal University of Espírito Santo (UFES). During her undergraduate studies, she was actively involved in scientific research, participating in the UFES Institutional Voluntary Scientific Initiation Program (2010–2011) and later receiving a CNPq-funded research scholarship through the UFES Institutional Scientific Initiation Scholarship Program (2013–2014).

 

Dr. Bastos-Bitencourt’s academic and clinical expertise is centered on Operative Dentistry and Dental Materials, with particular focus on ceramic restorations and dentin hypersensitivity.
