SPONSORED PROJECTS
My research interests lie at the intersection of bioengineering, drug delivery, and engineering education, with a focus on developing innovative solutions that improve both human health and the accessibility of STEM disciplines. My technical research background centers on nanoparticle-based systems for drug delivery and biomaterials design, particularly in the context of cancer therapeutics. I am especially interested in advancing naturally inspired and biologically compatible delivery strategies, including the development of nanoparticle scaffolds that leverage natural delivery mechanisms to improve targeting, efficacy, and translational potential.
In parallel with my technical work, I am actively expanding my research agenda into engineering education, where I seek to address critical challenges in student recruitment, retention, and success. A key focus of this work is demystifying common misconceptions surrounding engineering and STEM education, particularly those that discourage students from entering or persisting in these fields. I am interested in identifying barriers to access, exploring student perceptions of engineering identity, and developing evidence-based, student-centered interventions that foster inclusion, engagement, and long-term success.
By integrating my expertise in bioengineering with a growing commitment to engineering education research, my goal is to contribute to both the advancement of biomedical technologies and the transformation of how engineering is taught, perceived, and experienced. Ultimately, I aim to create impact not only through innovative research outputs, but also by shaping more inclusive and effective pathways into STEM careers.
