I am an Associate Professor of Surgery, Division of Surgical Oncology, Department of Surgery, University of Louisville School of Medicine. I am board certified by the American Board of Surgery and specialize in breast surgical oncology.  Since my appointment to the University of Louisville, I continue to implement new techniques and apply accepted standards in breast cancer surgery. These include implementation of intraoperative specimen radiograph technology, introducing and developing radioactive seed localization technique for lumpectomy and intraoperative radiation therapy for breast cancer, developing nipple sparing mastectomy techniques and oncoplastic reconstruction in conjunction with the plastic surgery division, implementing regional analgesia for mastectomy, enhanced recovery after surgery protocols for breast surgery and same day mastectomy program. I have been first and senior author of multiple manuscripts that have included undergraduate and graduate students. I am part of the Brown Cancer Center multidisciplinary breast clinic, and its past director.
