Nina Vasavada Panchal MD is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Unviersity of Louisville Division of Nephrology and Hypertension.

Major academic accomplishments over the last 5 years at the University of Louisville include 1) service as Medical Director of a dialysis facility, 2) development of a medical student Nephrology interest group as part of a national initiative to increase nephrology exposure, and 3) creation and development of a specialty Resistant Hypertension Clinic with regional referrals.

Each of these activities have given the opportunity to develop skills of collaboration and community engagement, with a goal towards improved health care access and outcomes. Performance measures for the dialysis facility under my leadership have been recognized as a high performing health care facility regionally. Success of the medical student group which I developed has led to a peer reviewed publication and collaboration with other medical centers
