Pediatric Critical Care Medicine 

Dr. Natalie Stewart spends her clinical time in both the Cardiovascular ICU and the PICU caring for critically ill children with congenital or acquired cardiac disease as well as respiratory failure, trauma, neurosurgical conditions, and more. She is the Program Director for the PCCM fellowship. She is the medical director for palliative care team at Norton Children’s Hospital. Her other clinical interests include cardiac critical care, extracorporeal membranous oxygenation (ECMO), End of Life education. She, along with another colleague, developed an End of Life curriculum for the ICU fellowship, and she is currently working on a multi-disciplinary project on ICU education and curriculum with residents, fellows, NPs, RTs, and RNs. Additionally, she serves as an advisory dean at the medical school. 

Dr. Stewart graduated Ross University, where she earned her medical degree in 2010. She completed her residency in general pediatrics in 2013 and Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Fellowship in 2016, both at the University of Louisville partnered with Norton Children’s Hospital. Prior to this, she attended Western Kentucky University earning a Bachelor of Arts in English.

Outside of the hospital, she is on the editorial board for Louisville Medicine, a local publication highlighting current issues in medicine. She lives in Louisville with her three sons, wife, three stepdaughters, 2 dogs and 2 cats  She enjoys reading and watching the endless activities their kids are involved in.
