Dr. Mittel is a pediatric hospitalist with Norton Children's Hospital. She was born and raised in Louisville, KY and attended Hanover College in Indiana. She received an MS and MD at the University of Louisville School of Medicine and completed her pediatric residency and chief residency at Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine. Currently, she serves as both a pediatric hospitalist as well as the senior associate dean for Student Affairs at the University of Louisville School of Medicine.

Her clinical areas of interest include nutrition, wellness and trauma-informed communication.
