I am:
- an Associate Professor of (Analytical) Chemistry at the University of Louisville
- a Bionalytical Core Director & faculty at the Christina Lee Brown Envirome Institute
- a part of the Superfund Center at UofL (Met-Tox Core)
- a point person for the bioanalytical needs of UofL researchers.
- passionate about mass spectrometry-based methods for detecting small molecules
About me:
- For almost two decades I have worked with LC-MS, GC-MS, MALDI-MS, NanoESI-MS, ICRs, Orbitraps, QTOFs, QQQs etc.
- I have received S10 funding (shared instrumentation grants) for two LC-MS systems.
- I have purchased or influenced several LC-MS system purchases.
- In addition to directing a Core facility, I oversee a mass spectrometry lab with project-specific equipment (fully utilized, not shared)
- I am a Service track faculty. I help with analyses for large human cohort studies and animal studies. I am part of many projects and I know what over 20 PIs are working on (I take an active part in experimental design and proposal writing).
- I was a Guest Editor for 2 Special Issues of Metabolites (Stable Isotope Guided Metabolomics I and II)
- I have authored and co-authored over 50 peer-reviewed publications
