Prejesh Philips, MBBS, MD, FACS is Professor of Surgery in the Division of Surgical Oncology at the University of Louisville and Program Director of the ACGME-accredited Complex General Surgical Oncology Fellowship. He is a fellowship-trained surgical oncologist with additional advanced training in ERCP and endoscopic ultrasound, specializing in hepatopancreatobiliary malignancies, pancreatic diseases, and advanced therapeutic endoscopy.

Dr. Philips' research focuses on improving outcomes in pancreatic diseases through translational and clinical investigation. His major interests include pancreatic cancer, perioperative immunonutrition and nutritional optimization in cancer surgery, acute and chronic pancreatitis, and minimally invasive and endoscopic management of pancreatic and biliary disorders. His work spans investigator-initiated clinical trials, quality improvement initiatives, and development of evidence-based clinical pathways, with particular emphasis on endoscopic interventions for pancreatic necrosis and integration of advanced endoscopy into multidisciplinary pancreatic care. He has authored more than 70 peer-reviewed publications, serves on multiple national committees within the Society of Surgical Oncology, AHPBA, and SAGES, and is an Editorial Board member for the Annals of Surgical Oncology. He is nationally recognized for his contributions to surgical oncology education, advanced endoscopy, and multidisciplinary management of pancreatic disease.
