Regina Umpstead Pratel is a Professor of Educational Leadership, Evaluation, and Human Development at the University of Louisville. Her scholarship focuses on education law and policy. She is actively involved in national leadership through the Education Law Association. She also serves as a National Education Center Policy Fellow and an associate editor of the Journal of School Leadership. Her work supports practitioners, policymakers, and scholars in navigating complex legal issues in education. Her most recent book is A Guide to Special Education Law (2026).
