As Chair of the Department of Epidemiology & Population Health for over 20 years, I played an instrumental role in the develop of the master and doctoral curricula in epidemiology.  I currently teach a course entitled "Theoretical Foundations of Epidemiology" that informs students on the historical origins and evolution of theory, methods and practices in epidemiology and its role in public health.  I continue to develop and refine other courses in the curriculum including the biology of disease in humans, environmental and infectious disease epidemiology, and social epidemiology.
