Robert Emmons, MD, FACP, is a hematologist/cell therapist with UofL Health/UofL Physicians who teaches fellows, internal medicine residents and medical students.  He is the medical director for the Dunbar CarT facility at UofL.  Dr. Emmons' career has spanned over 30 years.   Following residency in internal medicine at the University of Michigan he completed fellowship training at the NIH in hematology and began his research career there.  He is currently president of the Kentucy Society for Clinical Oncology (KYSCO).

Dr. Emmons' primary research interest is cellular therapy, especially cimeric antigen T-cells (CarT).  Dr. Emmons' clinical interests span the entire spectrum of hematologic dieases, especially hematologic malignancies including lymphomas, leukemias and plasma cell disorders.
