SPONSORED PROJECTS

My research and multidisciplinary scientific collaborations have primarily focused on environmental health with an interest in sanitation systems, water quality, and public health. My formal training is in environmental science, and I have experience in both academic and private sectors. Specifically, I have focused on delivering new models and methods for environmental health research that advocate for healthier communities.

Since 2020, I have supported a research program to study the use of wastewater monitoring in Louisville, and also the Kentucky corrections system. In 2022 this work expanded to wastewater-based epidemiology research in the east African country of Malawi. Sanitation systems, both non-sewered and piped, can be particularly challenging for public health applications. My work elucidates the spread of diseases around communities using what we all flush, which can have value and efficiently improve public health interventions.
