Attended Virginia Tech for BSc (1988). Worked for Ethyl Corporation in Baton Rouge, LA from 1988-1993 and received MSc from LSU in 1991. Received PhD from Northwestern University in 1997. Worked for The Boeing Company in Seattle from 1998 - 2001 and was adjunct lecturer at the University of Washington during that time. Joined University of Louisville as Assistant Professor in 2002; currently Associate Professor.
