In addition to research and clinical duties at the University of Louisville, Dr. Doster has served as the Branch Councilor for the American Society for Microbiology Kentucky/Tennesss Branch to the ASM Council on Microbial Sciencies (COMS) since 2020. He was elected to the status of Fellow of the Infectious Diseases Society of America in 2024.
