Dr. Gill earned his doctorate degree in Mathematical Sciences from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2002 for his work developing a change point model known as generalized broken-line regression.  Since that time, he has been employeed as a faculty member in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Louisville working on a wide range on methodological and theoretical statistical areas including change-point models, generalized linear models, penalized regression, partial least squares, mixture models, Bayesian models, and negative binomial models involving a wide range of environmental, economic, financial, and medical applications.  He has taught a wide range of undergraduate and graduate courses in mathematics and statistics, and has supervised twelve doctoral and master's students.  He is also currently the Director of Graduate Studies and the Assistant Chair for the Department of Mathematics.
