Dr. Ryan Smith is a board-certified neonatologist and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Louisville. Prior to joining the university as a faculty member, he completed his pediatrics residency and neonatal-perinatal medicine fellowship here at the University of Louisville as well, and has served as a neonatologist with Norton Children’s Neonatology since 2016. He is currently the Medical Director for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit over at their Women's and Children's Hospital.

Additionally, he holds certifications in pediatrics and neonatal-perinatal medicine and maintains active medical licensure in Indiana and Kentucky. A long-standing member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and its Neonatal/Perinatal Section, Dr. Smith has been recognized with the Chairman’s Achievement Award for excellence in clinical care and academic contribution.
