Ryan D. Williams, M.D. is an assistant professor within the divisions of General Pediatrics and Pediatric Hospital Medicine. 

Origionally from Eugene, Oregon, Dr. Williams started out in high-tech manufacturing and eventually enlisted in the US Army. After his enlistment he returned to Eugene where he trained as a firefighter/paramedic and simutaneously earned a bachalor of science in human physiology from the University of Oregon. He continued on to Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, OR for his medical doctorate, and completed pediatric residency at the University of Louisville where he has remained as faculty.

After residency he served as faculty in the academic clinic Norton Children's Medical Group -Stonestreet. Part of his clinical responsibilities was to intermittently staff the newborn nursery at UofL Health hospital in downtown Louisville. This has since developed into a dual role as a general pediatrician and newborn hospitalist, bringing the perspective of a community pediatrician into the hospital. He is also a curriculum administrator for the newborn nursery providing educational resources to resident physicians doing their from the pediatric, family medicine, and child neurology programs and 3rd year medical students completing their pediatric clerkships.
