Dr. Morris is passionate about teacher education and dedicated to preparing future educators with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to succeed. Their research focuses on Mathematical Identity, Trauma-Informed Mathematics, and Trauma-Informed Care in the Classroom. A former Jefferson County Public Schools teacher and school math leader, Dr. Morris now serves as an elementary education instructor, specializing in foundations of instruction and elementary mathematics. They also serve as Elementary Program Coordinator, chair of the Honors and Scholarship Committee, and as a board leader for foster care and adoptive organizations, where they advocate for students who have experienced trauma.
