Dr. Samuel T. Beasley received his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin. He holds a master’s degree from Indiana University in Bloomington and a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Kentucky. Overall, Dr. Beasley's research and scholarship focuses on examining the experiences and outcomes of diverse undergraduate and graduate students. More specifically, Dr. Beasley’s primary line of research seeks to document the experiences and enhance the outcomes of graduate students of color with an emphasis on Black graduate men. He also examines predictors of academic self-concept and academic achievement among Black college students, evaluating and expanding cross-racial and ethnic solidarity among individuals and communities of color, and identifying strengths-based training interventions for graduate training in the mental health professions (e.g., counseling psychology).
