Dr. Kavalukas is originally from Pittsburgh, PA where she completed her undergraduate and graduate degrees at Duquesne University. She worked as a Physician Assistant in General Surgery before she decided to further pursue her career and completed her medical degree Penn State University in Hershey, PA. From there she completed her General Surgery Residency at Vanderbilt University followed by a Colon & Rectal Fellowship at Cleveland Clinic Florida. After completing her training, Dr. Kavalukas was recruited to Louisville where she is currently active in all aspects of academic medicine with a heavy clinic volume, and holds educational leadership positions and has ongoing research projects.
