Overview: Dr. Tomchek is Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Neurodevelopmental Science. He has over 30 years of pediatric clinical practice, teaching, scholarship, and research experience in various settings. Strengths-based, inter-professional, family-centered care is central to all programs he touches. Dr. Tomchek received his Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1991 and his post-professional Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1993 with a concentration in early intervention.  His Doctor of Philosophy in Rehabilitation Sciences in 2005 is from the University of Kentucky. Dr. Tomchek initially facilitated clinical operations and secured funding for interdisciplinary developmental pediatrics and clinical genetics programs in the Department of Pediatrics. Currently, he is the Project Director for the Kentucky Early Intervention System (KEIS) Technical assistance contract which supports the KEIS Record Review Project and Coaching in Early Intervention Training and Mentorship Program.
