Dr. Seth Eckler is an educator, scholar, and leader in the field of health and physical education. He holds a Ph.D. in Education and has more than 12 years of teaching experience, including the past seven years in higher education. At the University of Louisville, Dr. Eckler teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in physical education, athletic coaching, and athletic directorship, with a particular emphasis on curriculum design, physical literacy, motivation, and program leadership.

In addition to his teaching, Dr. Eckler oversees part-time faculty in the university’s Coaching Minor program and provides mentorship to future physical educators and coaches. His scholarship and practice focus on preparing students to become reflective, student-centered professionals who create meaningful, lifelong opportunities for health and movement.

Dr. Eckler is an active contributor to the professional community, presenting regularly at state and national conferences, including the Kentucky Society of Health and Physical Educators (KYSHAPE), where he also helps guide future professional development initiatives. In 2024, he was recognized as the Kentucky SHAPE Higher Educator of the Year for his outstanding contributions to the field.
