Dr. Shawnise Martin Miller is an Assistant Professor (Term) at the University of Louisville’s Raymond A. Kent School of Social Work and Family Science. With over 15 years of experience in social work education, Dr. Miller specializes in teaching, curriculum development, and leadership training with a focus on diversity, oppression, and social justice. She plays a key role in the Doctorate in Social Work (DSW) Program, where she develops and teaches courses that prepare students to lead and teach within academic and social service environments. Dr. Miller is a recipient of the 2023 Presidential Excellence Distinguished Faculty Award in Teaching and is widely recognized for her commitment to inclusive, equity-focused pedagogy and student mentorship.
