TEACHING & MENTORING
As a social work educator, Dr. Miller is committed to fostering inclusive, critically reflective, and justice-centered learning environments. Her teaching philosophy is grounded in anti-oppressive pedagogy, adult learning theory, and experiential education. She aims to cultivate classrooms where students are encouraged to interrogate power, privilege, and systemic injustice while developing the practical skills required for ethical and effective practice. She integrates real-world application through case-based learning, teaching and leadership practicums, equipping students to lead in both academic and community settings. Her course development and instruction span the BSW, MSSW, and DSW levels, with particular focus on social justice, teaching and learning in social work, and organizational leadership. She continually adapts her teaching methods to support diverse learning needs and to model the transformative leadership we seek to foster in the profession.
