Hello, My name is Shelly Wheatley. I have been a nurse since 2013 and have worked primarily in critical care. I received my Masters in Nursing Education in 2019 and my PhD in Health Professions Education in 2023. My dissertation focused on anxiety in first semester accelerated nursing students. I have been teaching nursing clinicals since 2018 and nursing courses since 2021. I completed an accelerated nursing program after receiving my first degree in Biology. I have done everything from bedside nursing, to onboarding new hires, to teaching nursing students, to working in procedural areas, to working closely with the hospitalist group at my current hospital. My passion is teaching nursing students, pirmarily teaching first semester nursing students in the clinical setting. I also love teaching and learning about critical care. I enjoy providing patient care and teaching students how to create patient centered goals and relationships. I stay current in patient care by working in a post-anesthesia care unit and by teaching nursing clinicals in the hospital.
