TEACHING & MENTORING
My teaching is grounded in the belief that the classroom is both a site of learning and a space for social transformation. Drawing on my research in African American history, civil rights, and Black Power movements, I design courses that engage students in critical inquiry, historical analysis, and connections between past and present struggles for justice. I emphasize primary sources, student-centered discussion, and mentorship to foster intellectual growth and civic responsibility. Whether in survey courses or advanced seminars, my goal is to empower students to see themselves as participants in history and agents of change in their own communities.
