Dr. Subathra Marimuthu, Ph. D., MB (ASCP) Completed PhD in Biochemistry in 2007, began her career at the Medical University of South Carolina as a Post doctoral scholar. Then moved to University of Louisville in 2013 and worked as a Senior Research Associate in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology. In 2015 started a position with the Infectious Diseases Division as a Clinical Research Coordinator, then became a Research manager of the U of L Infectious Diseases Biorepository and Molecular Biology Scientist at the U of L Infectious Diseases reference Lab. She has worked diligently to further her career at the University and attributes her mentors, Dr. Forest Arnold D.O., MS. Msc. FIDSA, Dr. James Summersgill Ph.D., and Dr. Leslie Wolf Ph.D., HCLD (ABB) for her success.

Dr. Marimuthu became an assistant professor and University of Louisville, Department of Medicine-Division of Infectious Diseases faculty member in August 2021. Dr. Marimuthu oversees the daily operation of Infectious Diseases Biorepository located within the Infectious Diseases Laboratory at the Delia Baxter Building II room 113, 580 South Preston Street, Louisville, KY 40202. Additionally, she plays a key role in laboratory developed clinical testing; for example, Pan-Ehrlichiosis and Anaplasmosis PCR, Atypical pbemoniae PCR, SARS Covid-19 PCR, and CT/NG PCR.
