Dr. Rhema is a leader in the development of culturally grounded and trauma informed services for immigrant and refugee populations. Dr. Rhema has developed courses in global practice and international travel study.

Dr. Rhema serves on the Kentucky Multidisciplinary Commission on Child Sexual Abuse, is a board member of the Little Loom House, and the Kentucky representative for the War Survivors Institute.
