Dr. Tara Kopp is an associate professor in the Department of Pediatrics and a pediatric emergency medicine physician with Norton Children's Emergency Medicine.  She is dedicated to medical education, particularly medical simulation.  She serves as the SPARC (Simulation for Pediatric Assessment, Resuscitation and Communication) Associate Director of Simulation Education and Quality helping to educate trainees, faculty and staff.  As the Co-Director for the pediatric resident procedure rotation from 2021 - 2026, she provided procedural skills training.  In 2024, she was appointed the Associate Medical Director of Norton Children's and Norton Children's Medical Center Emergency Departments.

Dr. Kopp is originally from New York.  She graduated from Villanova University in 2008 with her B.S. in Comprehensive Science.  She then received her M.D. from New York Medical College in 2013.  Afterward, she moved to the Midwest and completed both her pediatric residency in 2016 and pediatric emergency medicine fellowship in 2019 at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.  She joined the UofL School Medicine and Norton Children's in 2019.
