Originally a part-time lecturer at the University of Louisville in the 1980s, I returned to teaching in 2015 after spending more than 25 years as a technical writer, instructional designer, and instructional media developer. During that time I worked for such companies as Atlas/Innovative Electronic Designs, Humana, Churchill Downs, Inc., KFC, GE Appliances, Comdata Corp., and Little Brownie Bakers (one of the bakers of Girl Scout Cookies). I also had a side-gig as a music journalist for Louisville Music News. In addition, I was a voice-over announcer and was the radio commercial voice for Chevron-Texaco lubricants and, locally, Bearno's Pizza. 

While at UofL this second time I was an instructor and student services fellow for the Cadre & Faculty Development Course (now called the Master Educators Course) for the US Army's Cadet Command at Ft. Knox, a Red & Black Mentor for the Department of Athletics, and a dual-credit instructor at Butler Traditional High School, I am now a full-time Instructor for UofL's Department of English.
