Dr. Berfield is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Director of the Additive Manufacturing Institute of Science and Technology (AMIST) at the University of Louisville. His research focuses on experimental mechanics, particularly the behavior of materials processed via additive manufacturing technologies. Recent works include research projects into refractory-based alloy systems specifically designed for extreme temperature applications.
