Dr. Oh joined the Department of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery and Communicative Disorders in 2022. He earned both his M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering and his Ph.D. in Speech and Hearing Science from The Ohio State University. He subsequently completed postdoctoral training at the Oregon Hearing Research Center (Oregon Health & Science University) and the National Center for Rehabilitative Auditory Research (Portland VA Medical Center), working under the mentorship of Dr. Lina Reiss and Dr. Frederick Gallun.

At the University of Louisville, Dr. Oh teaches courses in Cochlear Implants, Research Methods, and Investigations in Audiology. His research examines how hearing loss alters auditory function and speech processing, with particular interest in the role of multisensory integration during speech perception. To address these questions, he is developing computational models that draw on psychophysics, digital signal processing, and neural network theories. His current studies employ both human participants—including normal-hearing individuals and patients with hearing impairment or other sensory deficits—and model-based approaches using artificial intelligence techniques such as blind source segregation.
