Ziyad Hamad earned his Ph.D. in Mathematics from West Virginia University in 2023 and joined the University of Louisville as an Assistant Professor in 2024. His research explores connections between infinite combinatorics, general topology, and functional analysis, with particular interest in developing new mathematical structures inspired by matroid theory. His dissertation introduced finite matroidal spaces and matrological spaces as proposed generalizations of topological vector spaces. Dr. Hamad is committed to fostering deep conceptual understanding, inclusive pedagogy, and student-centered learning environments, with a focus on helping students build confidence, engage in mathematical reasoning, and see mathematics as a meaningful and accessible discipline.
