Dr. Zohn Centimole (Z-ah-n Cent-ih-mole) is the Assistant Director of the University of Louisville Nurse Anesthesia Track. He currently teaches chemistry and physics for nurse anesthetists, advanced anatomy and physiology for nurse anesthetists, and anesthetic pharmacology for the track. He practices clinically at both the University of Louisville Hospital-Trauma Center and the University of Louisville Jewish Hospital, where his clinical practice includes major trauma resuscitation and a large volume of neurovascular anesthesia. His research focuses on improving cognitive outcomes after anesthesia and surgery in frail, older, and elderly patients. He was the primary investigator for a 2019 randomized controlled trial that showed a cognitive benefit when processed EEG-guided anesthesia was utilized to customize anesthesia in the elderly. His most recent publication in the June 2024 AANA Journal described the state of the science concerning anesthesia and cognition. In 2026, he spoke at the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists-EDGE conference on teaching strategies to incorporate the pEEG and density spectral array into nurse anesthesia training. He is a University of Louisville Student Champion (2024), Faculty Favorite (2023-24), and a Fellow inductee to the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists in 2024.
